"The fact of the matter is, if you are looking to extract the most out of your CPU by overclocking it, you will have to contend with all the extra heat produced. Heat is the enemy when it comes to performance during overclocking, and in many cases can be the limiting factor of how far you can go with your overclock. The traditional method of cooling has been through air coolers that, in most cases, actively move air across the heatsink to cool the CPU. Though this method proves extremely simple and reliable with excellent efficiency, there are limitations to how well it can perform when the clock is turned up on the CPU.
